caricatureIn the 1980s I left my native Switzerland to work for 20 years in Thailand’s capital Bangkok in various executive positions. The city’s notorious traffic jams and pollution sent me packing and move to the seashores of nearby Pattaya to realize a lifelong dream of my own outdoor restaurant which opened in October 2005.

Switzerland’s only Italian-speaking province, the Canton of Ticino (www.ticino.ch), guarantees relaxed weekend breaks or holidays. The warm and mild weather, sunshine, Italian-inspired mouth watering food and lovely wines combined with a service mind for which Switzerland is known for. Having had this in mind it inspired me to create an oasis of relaxation and good food for residents from neighbouring Pattaya, Maptaput and Lake Mabprachan area.

The lush garden atmosphere with individually designed dining areas surrounded by all sorts of tamed tropic fauna, various fountains and water games invite you to spend a memorable and peaceful evening in an unmatched environment. Be it a romantic dinner with your family or friends, the end of a business day or a private garden party for up to 70 people; Ticino offers you an alternative with a difference.

Dining alone is also never a problem as the VespaBar is an integrated meeting place at Ticino. Be it for a drink, an a la carte meal or a night cap – there’s always a reason to stop by the VespaBar.

The menu reflects sumptuous delicacies from the Canton of Ticino such as Coniglio (Rabbit ragout with Polenta, Ossobuco (simmered veal shank), Boletus Mushroom or Saffron Risotti or Vitello Tonnato. And, naturally, it’s all cooked according to the original recipes with non-substituted ingredients.
The Ticino restaurant proudly makes Thailand’s thinnest and crispiest Pizze allowing countless combinations of toppings; homemade flat and filled pasta with fresh sauces and a range of “dolci” (desserts) round off any meal with a sweet touch.

I am sure that our own interpretations of international bestsellers as well as a range of sumptuous and fresh Thai food round off the range of culinary delights to please your palate.
